The Geodatabase storage model introduces an entirely new set of terminology, and an entirely new set of processes. This workshop will introduce the terminology and concepts necessary to understand and make effective use of the new Geodatabase data storage model. This workshop will examine the differences between the Geodatabase and earlier GIS data storage models. Topics include the basic Geodatabase concepts, structure of the Geodatabase, and the object model. The workshop will cover converting shapefiles and coverages into a Geodatabase, and techniques in building a simple Geodatabase.
